One of you is Caligula, a Roman emperor who is hosting a banquet and harbouring the crazy idea of incapacitating 3 guests by overeating or poisoning. The rest of you – the banquet socialites – also have secret objectives: some want to assassinate the emperor, some want to collect presents, some just want to savour enough food & wine. Game-play is unique and wickedly fun: On your turn, you choose 3 cards from among 7 face-up cards – discard 1, keep 1, and offer 1 face-down to another player. The player being offered decides whether to accept and apply its effect immediately, or pass it on to another player without seeing the card. If everybody rejects the card, you have to take back and apply its effect on yourself. Simple game-play; bluff, suspense, tense decisions and dynamic interactions; Bacchus’ Banquet is another fun game by the designer of Saboteur – Fréderick Moyersoen.
